The Outlaw Music Festival Tour will return June 28

A powerful message was delivered by music legend Willie Nelson to the relatives of one of the victims of the shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, earlier this year. “To you folks there, the parents who are going through some incredible [sic] sad times: Remember that it’s not something you get over, but it’s something you will get through,” he said after performing at a rally for Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke (D) in Austin on Sunday (October 2). According to the Houston Chronicle, Nelson was speaking with the family of Jackie Cazares, a fourth-grader who was one of the 19 children and two adults killed in the Robb Elementary School shooting on May 24. With songs like “Whiskey River” and “On The Road Again,” as well as “Deep In The Heart Of Texas,” Nelson played a 15-minute set that nodded to the crowd in his birthplace. He ended with the 2018 song “Vote ‘Em Out,” which served as his call to action.
