Peeling Raw Eggs Has Become a Viral Trend on TikTok
A new trend is taking over TikTok, in which people peel raw eggs.
The “egg peel challenge” shows people using toothpicks, cuticle pushers, tweezers, and metal blemish extractors to separate the shell and fragile membrane.
Some succeed and have a perfectly unshelled egg membrane; while others fail and break into the egg white or yolk.
Challenge participants and viewers have described the activity as “oddly satisfying,” “relaxing,” or “fun.”
As of Thursday evening (January 6th), the hashtag #EggPeelChallenge had more than 14.9 million views associated with TikTok.
