Bears fans are experiencing a “Hangover Friday” after the start of the 2019 NFL season. All the hype, 100 years, great rivalry, and we get a 10-3 Packers victory over a lifeless Bears offense. So let’s start with the positives.
The Good News:
Eddy Pineiro connected on his first career field goal from 38 yards, and he could have had another one had Matt Nagy decided to attempt a 50-yarder to bring the Bears within one point of the Packers in the third quarter.
The Bears Defense held Aaron Rodgers to 2-of-12 on third down for a whopping 213 total yards. They held the Packers to 47 Rushing yards on 22 carries.
Wide Receiver Allen Robinson had 7 catches for 102 yards (the only 100 yard reciever in the game)
Leonard Floyd had 2 of the Bears 5 sacks on Aaron Rodgers.

The Bad:
3 points, really Kyle Schwarber drove in 4 himself in the Cubs victory over Milwaukee!
Mitch Trubisky simply didn’t look good, going 26 of 45 for 228 yards and an interception. Maybe he should’ve played in the pre-season?
The Packers, the offense woke up in the second quarter. Rodgers took Green Bay’s offense 74 yards in just over 90 seconds for the first touchdown on 2019. The big play on the drive was a vintage deep pass by Rodgers, completing a 47-yarder to Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
A fourth-quarter possession so awful, the Bears went from the Packers’ 43-yard line all the way back to their own 27 to face a third-and-40.

OK Bears fans, it’s only 1 game. A long way to go! Next up for the Bears a road game at Mile High in Denver against the Broncos
