Pets can help adults cope with issues

A new national poll shows that pets may help older adults cope with mental and physical issues. The University of Michigan Poll on Healthy Aging surveyed over two-thousand adults between ages 50-to-80. More than half were pet owners and say their furry friends gave them in a sense of purpose and helped them stay active. Those who did not own a pet cited the responsibility and time commitment.
