During a recent sit down with Apple Music’s “Essentials Radio” Miranda Lambert opened up about her hit song, “Over You,” written with her ex-husband, Blake Shelton.  Lambert recalled writing the song explaining that it came after Blake had lost his little brother in 1990 at 24 after a car accident.  Blake shared the experience with Lambert; she asked if he’d ever written about his brother’s death, which he hadn’t. Miranda says she wanted to write a song about the experience but worried it would be too “invasive.” ‘Well, my dad just says, “You don’t get over it. You just get used to it.”‘ Blake told Lambert. So the two penned the song and it went on to win song of the year at the CMAs and ACM Awards.
