Earth Day 2024 Targets Plastic Usage
Today (Monday, April 22nd) is Earth Day – and this year’s official theme is “Planet versus Plastics.”
Organizers hope to reduce the use of single-use plastic items by 60% – or almost two-thirds, by the year 2040.
They recommend using reusable straws, bags, and water bottles. A great habit to change is making the switch away from plastic bags to re-usable.
Other ways you can help the Earth? Using less water, carpooling, or using public transportation instead of driving.
