A dog, who has spent the past 11 years in an animal shelter, has a new place to call home.

Her name is Wiggles; and she is a pit bull mix, who just got adopted by a Missouri family, after more than a decade in a shelter in Godfrey, here, in Illinois.

Wiggles, who is now 14, was brought to the shelter back in 2010.  Her caregivers say that, at first, Wiggles wasn’t overly friendly.  But, then she was diagnosed with a benign tumor – the size of a golf ball – which grew to the size of a cantaloupe.  Now, she really appreciates when people help her.

The couple who has adopted Wiggles say they have previous experience with two dogs who had cancer.  And they say they are eager to give her a good life, with their family.
