Shania Twain Congratulates England’s Champion Team with Quote from her Iconic Hit

Shania Twain congratulated England’s female soccer team, the Lionesses, on winning the Women’s Euro 2022 final against Germany.

It’s the first major trophy England has won since 1966.

The hosts won the 2022 UEFA European Women’s Football Championship 2-1 in extra time at Wembley Stadium.

You know these women will have had to fight for respect from the first moment they picked up the ball,” Twain tweeted; and then added her iconic lyrics (with a little added expletive):  “Let’s f**king go girls!

It’s from her 1997 song “Man, I Feel Like a Woman.”  That song actually prompted criticism for Twain, as it was not considered “ladylike,” nor “traditional,” at the time.

With 87,192 spectators, the women’s game broke all previous records for men’s and women’s Euro match attendance.
