Becoming a stepdad to Gwen Stefani’s kids has taught Blake Shelton a lot.

In a recent interview, Shelton explained that the three boys have opened a whole new side of his identity.

I’m someone they actually lean on, and that’s not a responsibility that I ever had and not something that I ever considered even being into,” explained the country star.  But he says he’s into it, now.

In past interviews, Blake has shared that he was raised by his step-father, whom he considers his “Dad.”

Shelton says that the kids come first.  And he finds himself content, professionally, to travel “down the ladder,” now.

As Shelton transitions from The Voice to Barmageddon, the singer and television personality sat with Jennifer Hudson, to talk about a goat gift and pasta, on her daytime talk show.  Shelton talks about gifting Jennifer and her family a goat and getting a Timpano Italian Pasta Dome for the holidays.

The Voice coach also comedically links his wife, Gwen Stefani’s cooking to his changing appearance.

You can catch Blake on The Jennifer Hudson Show today (December 12).
