Flockin’ Parrots… They’re Teaching Each Other to Swear Like Sailors
Profane Parrots May Soon Teach a Flock Bad Words

It’s not your typical animal integration.  A British zoo now has brought a bunch of swearing parrots to live with a larger flock, which could mean the rest of the parrots will pick up the profanity.

They’re lettin’ ’em fly in there:  In 2020, five confiscated African gray parrots were united at the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park.  And they spent their time, together, teaching one another swear words.  Really, they’re just trying to communicate.  That’s what parrots do.

And, since parrots are social creatures, they will next be united with the larger flock, for their own good.  Can you just hear them now, sailing through the air, uttering sailors’ salutations?

We could end up with 100 swearing parrots on our hands. Only time will tell,” park chief executive Steve Nichols said.  “Even though they swear, the welfare of the birds has to come first.”
