CARRIE UNDERWOOD SHARES JOURNAL ENTRY OF ‘IDOL’ WIN 17 YEARS AGO
Carrie Underwood celebrated the 17th anniversary of her American Idol win yesterday (Wednesday, May 25th) by sharing her journal entry from that day on social media. Carrie posted the handwritten memory writing, “Where does the time go? Please enjoy a page from the journal of a 22-year-old farm girl who just had the most incredible night! I still feel the excitement through the pages! Happy anniversary to me and a forever “thank you” to all who voted!”
Carrie recalled that after host Ryan Seacrest announced her as the winner, “The crowd went wild. I immediately started crying. It was a beautiful moment . . . Then I was asked to sing. I blubbered through ‘Inside Your Heaven . . . ‘”
Carrie was scheduled to perform on the season finale of American Idol on Sunday (May 22nd) but had to bow out after an exposure to Covid within her team.
