The flu shot could soon be a “flu pill.”

A new oral flu vaccine is actually on the horizon.

A recent study, from Stanford, reveals that the oral vaccine has been just as effective as the standard injection.

A vaccine, which could be as easily administered as an oral tablet, would be faster to distribute and easier to administer than an injectable vaccine (a shot).

Downside:  the oral vaccine is at least five years away.
