Several stars, including Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Sam Elliot (pictured here), and Billy Bob Thornton, all attended the fancy premiere for the prequel to “Yellowstone.”

The “1883” premiere was held at Wynn Las Vegas, over last weekend.

Not in attendance for the premiere, but just announced as part of the show, is Tom Hanks.

Taste of Country reports that Hanks will make an appearance during Ep. 2 of the series, which begins Sunday, Dec. 19.  Deadline shares that he’ll appear in a flashback sequence which reveals more about James Dutton’s (played by McGraw) backstory.  We learn that Dutton fought with the Confederate forces at the Battle of Antietam (1862) in Maryland.  But the cameo with Hanks as a 3-star general was shot on a September day in Texas.

Many more star-studded cameos are set for seasons one and two.
