You Talk to Your Pet? It Reveals Something About YOU

Do you talk to your pet?

Does it mean you are crazy, if you do talk to your dog?  According to petfriendlyhouse.com, no:
“Well, if you are, the rest of the neighborhood must be too, so you’re in good company!”

Talking to your dog carries many benefits both for you and for your dog.  If you enjoy it, there is no need to stop.  It is a hallmark of a healthy relationship with your beloved pet.

New research says people who have conversations with their pets are highly intelligent.

Harley Tamplin, with Elite Daily, reports:

“It’s known as anthropomorphizing, which means giving human minds and names to non-humans, including objects.

“Nicholas Epley, behavioral science professor at the University of Chicago, told Quartz,

‘Historically, anthropomorphizing has been treated as a sign of childishness or stupidity, but it’s actually a natural byproduct of the tendency that makes humans uniquely smart on this planet.  No other species has this tendency.'”

Cat:  “She thinks we have some idea what she is talking about.”

Dog:  “I can’t believe you don’t understand what she’s saying.”

Oreo & Freckles look at Mo, like this, all the time.

BTW:  Do you give your pet a human name?  …Or a traditional pet name like Fido Or Fluffy?
