Wildlife Rescuers Try to Identify Mystery Animal:  Dog or Coyote?
Wildlife experts in Pennsylvania say they’re trying to figure out if an animal in their care is a dog or a coyote.
A woman in Fairfield Township says she found the animal, shivering and curled up, outside her basement door, last week.  So she contacted the local shelter.
Wildlife Works said in a Facebook post that they’re having genetic testing done on the canine, to determine its species.
The animal, which they say is very timid, is kept in isolation until the genetic testing results come back.  In the meantime, it’s getting treated for mange.

There’s more, here:  (UPI)

  • A woman in Pennsylvania called animal rescuers after noticing a shivering, cold animal on her property recently
  • Rescuers are now genetically testing to see if the animal is a dog or a coyote, and keeping the animal isolated until they get the results—they’re also treating the creature for mange
