Who Ages Faster – Women or Men?
Study:  Men Do Age Faster Than Women

Men age faster than women.  And the effects are seen even in 20-somethings, a new study suggests.

The study, published in The Journals of Gerontology:  Series A, tracked the biological age of 2,240 twins.  151 pairs of twins were brother and sister, which allowed for a gender comparison.

Biologically, men in their 50s were four years older than female counterparts.

Younger men saw a difference of an average of 1.2 years.

Even when genes and lifestyle are accounted for, women tend to age better.

One theory is that the sex hormone estrogen has a beneficial health impact for females.
