Keeping your window of eating time short each day could help you lose weight, if you can do it. University of Alabama researchers found eating all meals between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. can help people shed unwanted weight by helping them burn more calories. Ultimately, sticking to the six hour eating window improved people’s ability to switch between burning their food for energy to burning fat, and it also helped suppress the hunger hormone ghrelin. Also, eating within that window syncs with the body’s circadian rhythms, which regulate the body’s hormones and metabolism. Study co-author Dr. Eric Ravussin says coordinating meals with circadian rhythms “may be a powerful strategy for reducing appetite” and that he suspects “a majority of people may find meal timing strategies helpful for losing weight or to maintain their weight.” Read more from Daily Mail here.
