On the heels of the recent anniversary of D-Day, the U.S. Army celebrates another milestone:

it’s birthday.

The Second Continental Congress put together the Continental Army on June 14th, 1775 — which makes the Army 244 years old, as of Friday.

Naturally, the U.S. Army has changed since it was under the command of George Washington.  Today, it boasts more than one million soldiers.  Of them, 180,000 are deployed in more than 140 countries, according to Army figures.

For my father and my son, and all who serve:  HOOAH! ~ Mo
