TSA: Dog Accidentally Sent Through Wisconsin Airport X-ray Machine
Holiday travel has already proven to be pretty traumatic, this year, especially for some pets.
Last week, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees discovered a cat, in checked luggage, at a New York airport – which could be a death sentence, when you consider temperature and pressure changes in the cargo hold.
And, this week, airport officials reported that a dog was accidentally scanned through an x-ray machine, during a routine bag scan, at the airport in Madison, Wisconsin.
TSA spokespeople firmly remind us all, that fluffy friends are not meant to be checked into luggage, nor scanned through security—and flyers should notify airport staff if they have questions about airline rules.
Since these back-to-back mishaps, the federal agency has also posted an instructional video, about how to responsibly travel with a pet.
