The #1 Downloaded Country Song That Twitter Reputedly Censored

John Rich’s “Shut Up About Politics” is the number one downloaded country song, however, under Twitter’s new guidelines, the song is being censored. The social media site deems the song, “potentially harmful or associated with a violation of Twitter’s Terms of Service.”

Rich tweeted Twitter Friday morning questioned the censorship of the song and said that 100 percent of the proceeds would be donated to Folds of Honor, a non-profit organization that according to their website “provides educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service-members.”

The song features a frustrated Rich who is tired of all the “fighting and fussing” over politics and would rather “go to a baseball game.” Rich tweeted that Twitter needed to “fix” the song so that it could be heard and urged fans to spread the word.
