Smart Phones May Negatively Affect Our Senses

  • Susan Denham Wade, an author in the UK, suggests sight is “humanity’s ruling sense” and that the smart phone is the “pinnacle” of this. She says our over-reliance on sight may be detrimental to the other senses. Denham Wade also believes smart phone use could contribute to higher levels of stress, anxiety, loneliness, and depression. “They are the first thing we reach for in the morning, and the last thing we check at night,” she said.
