It’s one of the most beautiful theaters not only in Chicagoland but the U.S. and it’s celebrating a Birthday of sorts today. The Rialto first opened its doors on this day, May 24, in 1926. The “Jewel of Joliet” started as a movie theater and has hosted some of the greatest musical acts, plays, and events over the years. It’s hard to believe this theater almost closed in the 1980’s. Today you can still catch a movie plus the Rialto’s diverse shows make the venue a prime entertainment spot in Chicagoland. Here are some of the events lined up in the coming months:
