Reba McEntire was honored as CMT’s Artists of a Lifetime Award winner on Wednesday night. (October 16)
McEntire, who has spent 43 years in the country music business, says she has enjoyed “almost every minute of it.”
The country music icon spoke of the people she looks up to in the business, notably Thomas Rhett who McEntire praised for leading a prayer during the live show.
“Thomas Rhett, God bless you for praying in front [of everyone],” McEntire said, fighting back tears. “You’re special. You’re special. That took guts.”
Rhett prayed for Kane Brown, who was very emotional while accepting his award and dedicating it to his longtime drummer and friend, Kenny Dixon who recently died in a car accident. Here’s the complete story from ET ONLINE.
