Randy Travis Celebrated For Legendary Career:

The country music world is ready to celebrate legendary singer, Randy Travis, while raising awareness about a health issue that changed his life. Randy Travis will be honored at a concert called “A Heroes and Friends Tribute.” Travis has trouble speaking after a massive stroke in 2013 left him with aphasia. Travis’ wife, Mary, says the show “means a lot to him.” She called Travis’ catalog of music “the hymn of country music” because “that’s what his songs kind of do for people. They take them to a time and a place that’s very special to them.” The tribute concert is on Tuesday, October 24th, at 7 p.m. in Huntsville, Alabama, at Von Braun Center’s Propst Arena. Proceeds from the event will go to the Randy Travis Foundation, but performers haven’t been announced yet. The foundation focuses on stroke and aphasia awareness and supports music education in schools.
