If you haven’t used Netflix in a while your account may have been terminated. Netflix announced that it is asking customers who signed up and then didn’t stream anything for 12 months if they want to keep their membership or not. The company is also reaching out to those who haven’t streamed anything in the last two years and asking them the same thing. If Netflix members do not confirm that they want to keep subscribing, their accounts will automatically be cancelled. Netflix says that such inactive accounts represent less than 0.5% of its overall member base. Once Netflix terminates an inactive account it will save the account favorites, profiles, viewing preferences, and account details for ten months, so if the person decides to sign up again their account remains as it was previously. The streaming service says the move is meant to help people save money during this challenging time. Here’s the complete story from Variety.com.
