Morgan Wallen’s Album Of The Year ACM Win Polarizes Twitter

Twitter was split after Morgan Wallen took home Album of the Year during Monday night’s ACM Awards.  Wallen was very publicly shunned after dropping the N-word on video. His nomination for Male Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year was his first big award nomination since the incident. He won for Album of the Year and it split fans on social media.  “Morgan Wallen with a way [sic] overdue Album of the Year. Cancel culture can kiss his ass.” #ACMawards @MorganWallen tweeted @RickR415. @TheDiddyBop tweeted, “Give that man his gosh damn award! Thankfully the #ACMawards didn’t succumb to the cancel culture pressures like other award shows have. Every artist in Nashville knows he deserved that award, like him or not. So happy for the kid.”  Others were not so happy for Wallen tweeting, @NJL84 wrote, “Does your “savior Jesus christ” help you drop those N bombs too Morgan Wallen? Album of the year?? For the record, about 10 months is how long you will get punished for being racist in country music #ACMawards”  Another wrote, “did y’all watching the american [sic] country music show also feel like the Black man hugging morgan wallen [sic] was most definitely planted there to make him look like he’s not a horrific racist… or was that just me” How did you feel about Morgan Wallen winning an ACM Award?
