Teens who buy their makeup from Claire’s or Beauty Plus Global could be walking around with asbestos on their faces – so says the FDA.

In a warning issued Friday, the Food and Drug Administration reports that asbestos has been found in two of the companies’ products:  Beauty Plus Global Contour Effects Palette 2, and Claire’s JoJo Siwa Makeup Set.

Asbestos has been proven to cause respiratory diseases, including lung cancer and mesothelioma.

PLUS:  This is not the first time Claire’s, which sells cosmetics made for adolescent girls, has come under fire.  Three months ago, the FDA issued a similar warning about other products sold by the chain.

No official response, yet, from the Hoffman Estates-based jewelry and make-up chain.
