That was fast.  LADY ANTEBELLUM gets to keep their new name, LADY A . . . although they WILL be sharing it with Anita White, the Seattle blues singer who’s been going by the stage name of Lady A for over 20 years.

Anita told USA Today that the band reached out, and HILLARY SCOTT even apologized.  Quote, “We talked about attempting to co-exist but didn’t discuss what that would look like, but I was clear I’m keeping my name.”

The band posted a photo of a Zoom call they did with Anita on Monday.  They wrote, “Today, we connected privately with the artist Lady A.  Transparent, honest, and authentic conversations were had.”

“We are excited to share we are moving forward with positive solutions and common ground.  The hurt is turning into hope.  More to come.”

(That “more to come” will likely indicate a financial settlement.  The original Lady A spent a long time building that name, so she deserves something in return.)
