Josh Turner has canceled all remaining tour dates through September in the wake of a horrific bus accident that occurred on Wednesday (September 19th) night and claimed the life of his longtime sound engineer David Turner (no relation to the singer). A tour bus carrying Josh’s crew was traveling from Paso Robles, CA to Washington for a scheduled concert yesterday (Thursday, September 19th) when the bus reportedly veered off the highway and plunged down a 50-foot embankment. Seven other crew members were injured. Firefighters said two people from the bus were airlifted to a hospital with major injuries, while five others were hospitalized via ambulance for moderate injuries.
Josh and his band were following the crew bus and reportedly rushed to the crash scene to help rescue the others.
A spokesperson for the singer said, “Josh Turner and his road family have suffered a devastating loss. Please keep the crew, band and Josh in your thoughts and prayers. All remaining shows in September will be rescheduled for a later date.”
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but drugs and alcohol were already ruled out.
