Alex Trebeck’s Final Jeopardy Shows Today-Friday

Alex Trebek’s 35-plus-year tenure on Jeopardy! will formally end this week, when the final five episodes he recorded of the series will air, from January 4 to January 8. The run of episodes will include a message the host recorded about the “season of giving” that will air at the beginning of the Monday episode, and a final tribute to him will run on the final Friday installment. One producer said that, although Alex was in pain and recovering from a procedure, he insisted on not canceling the taping of the episodes, and the producer said that, for those who are looking fro signs of distress, you won’t see any, because Alex was such a pro.

Mike Richards, and executive producer on Jeopardy! said, “Those final five episodes, we shot three the first day and then two the second day, and they were great. You’ll watch them, and you’ll go, “This guy’s as healthy as could be. This is not a sick person at all.” He had that much willpower. And we knew how much he was fighting, and that’s what made the performance even more impressive.”

Ken Jennings takes over as guest host on January 11th. Here’s the complete story from CTV News.
