Runaway June will reunite with Carrie Underwood in September for the fall leg of the Cry Pretty Tour.

The trek kicked off in May, just a few months after Carrie gave birth to her youngest son, Jacob.

“We’re like, ‘Carrie, what can we do to help?’” Jennifer Wayne recalls. “Obviously we can’t buy her anything. She has whatever she needs.”

“And she’s like, ‘I just want you girls to drink wine with me.’ She’s like, ‘Just spend time with me and drink wine with me.’ We’re like, ‘We can do that,’” Jennifer laughs.

Since it’s an all-girl tour, with Maddie & Tae completing the lineup, it could be a chance for country’s women to prove they can party as much as the men.

“We shouldn’t necessarily be the ones that are like, ‘Oh, girls party, too!’” Hannah Mulholland admits. “Because like we don’t really party. But I’m sure girls party just as well as the guys.”

“We’ve been known to party,” Naomi Cooke interjects. “The Jon Pardi/Midland tour [in 2017] really opened our eyes to the potential for for a fast track into the dirt for Runaway June,” she quips. “We’ve since changed our ways. We avoid those boys at all costs.”

“We can go big for one or two nights,” Jennifer clarifies, “but just not every night. We like to be in our pajamas and cozy.”

“But we do like to have fun,” Naomi says.

“I like to read in my bunk, you know,” Hannah jokes.

Runaway June’s currently enjoying the biggest hit of their career so far with “Buy My Own Drinks,” from their debut album, Blue Roses.

They’re set to reunite with Carrie and Maddie & Tae September 10 in San Diego, California.
