Dame Helen Mirren Offers Tribute and Love to Queen Elizabeth – Whom She Portrayed

Academy Award winner Helen Mirren was one of the first to send her condolences, after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.  “I am proud to be an Elizabethan,” said the actress who played her in The Queen.

We mourn a woman, who, with or without the crown, was the epitome of nobility.”

If you recall, Helen won an Oscar for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II; who passed away “peacefully” at Balmoral Castle.  Her heirs to the throne were with her, along with other close family and friends.

NYPost:  “And, even before her iconic performance, Mirren was known as a friend of the Crown and was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2003.”
