Garth Brooks Will Be the First Country Artist to Receive Billboard’s ICON Award Tonight
Garth Brooks will receives Billboard’s highest honor, the ICON award. He will be the first country singer to receive the award. He joins Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder, Cher, Prince, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey who have all received the prestigious award.
Garth has won 19 Billboard awards during the course of his career.
Billboard says the ICON award honors, the cultural impact of an artist whose extraordinary talent as a creator, writer and entertainer has stood the test of time.
The 2020 Billboard Music Awards are tonight in Los Angeles. Kelly Clarkson will host the show, which will feature performances by John Legend, Pentatonix, Alicia Keys, Khalid and more. Country performers include Kane Brown, Luke Combs and Billboard Icon Award winner Garth Brooks. The Billboard awards air live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles Tonight (Wednesday October 14th) at 7 p.m. Central Time on NBC.
