Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Date Your Ex

After J. Lo and Ben tied the knot, two decades after their first attempt, you might be wondering if you should get back with your ex. Well, no – not generally – unless you’re a big fan of going backwards.

Relationship expert Isiah McKimmie offers these tips:

“A lot of the time people end up breaking up again, for the same reasons they did in the first place,” she advises. But, if you two now want the same things in life; and if one or both of you have worked out issues in therapy, reconnecting might be a good move.

Either way, it’s important to have realistic expectations. People do change… But how much, and in which direction?
