The first time you meet your significant other’s family can make-or-break your relationship, according to a new study.  The researchers at U of I say it’s because that moment is when your significant other can really review your relationship, and figure out whether or not you have a future together.

There’s always a lot of pressure when you meet your new boyfriend or girlfriend’s family for the first time.

And not to add even MORE pressure . . . but your entire relationship might hinge on that moment.

A new study out of the University of Illinois found the, quote, “ritual” of meeting your significant other’s family is when that person truly evaluates your relationship and future together.

Quote, “Rituals provide a unique time to review one’s partner and relationship.  You get to see a host of behaviors and interactions that might normally be obscured . . . altering [people’s] view of their partner, giving them a new perspective.”

On the bright side, if things go WELL when you meet your significant other’s family, it’s a REALLY good sign for your future as a couple.
