The smooth song is driven by acoustic guitar, with Chase singing to a woman he’ll drop anything to spend time with..

“It doesn’t matter if it’s last call from a late night sidewalk, a little too buzzed, a little too drunk/you could have your hair down, all curled up on the couch,” he sings. “Just call me ’cause I’m lonely/yeah I’m lonely if you are.”

Chase officially announced the song would be his new single during a set at Ascend Ampitheatre as part of this week’s 2019 CMA Fest. He says it reflects the sound he cultivated during his early days as a country artist.

“‘Lonely If You Are’ starts out simply with just an acoustic guitar, which is a different sound for me than what people might be used to, but it also goes back to how I started in Nashville, when it was just me with a guitar writing songs,” he said.

Chase recently scored his first #1 song when “Eyes on You” reached the top spot on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. It’s been there for two straight weeks.
