Florida Georgia Line posted a video wishing fans a happy new year on New Year’s Day (Friday, Jan. 1st) as well as shared some of their plans for 2021, which include new music as both a duo and as solo acts. Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard made it clear that they are not breaking up, but rather “creating some freedom for ourselves,” according to Brian.

The duo said that the quarantine gave them some new perspective of their music, individually. Brian told fans, “Kinda where I landed, man, is really falling in love with my guitar, and writing songs again, even more than ever . . . I think I’m supposed to sing these, and probably have a project or an outlet for these to come out on.” He added that it has been a “lifelong dream” of his to release solo music, but the time has never been right until now.

Tyler referenced collaborations he is doing with other artists, however he didn’t share any other details during the clip. Yesterday (Sunday, Dec. 3rd), however, he posted a picture of himself with Tim McGraw in the studio with the caption, “Me and Tim been up to something special. Can’t wait to share with y’all. #undivided”

In the meantime, Florida Georgia Line will release their fifth studio album, called Life Rolls On, next month. The duo also say they’re “holding some dates” this year in the hopes they’ll be able to get back to touring.
