Officials say Illinois farmers had the safest season in decades last year, with a dozen farm-related fatalities. The deaths occurred between July 2012 and June 2013. Fall harvest is underway in Illinois. There are reports that corn yields are good this year, though not at record levels. Farmers are racing to get crops out of the field and to market before the first frost. Drivers are asked to be patient as more farm equipment will be on the roads.
