Chicago is expanding COVID-19 testing in response to a surge in cases of the virus in the city. Mayor Lightfoot announced plans yesterday to open a new permanent testing site at Midway Airport. The city is also directing 14-million-dollars in grants and other resources to various healthcare and community partners to expand testing and contact tracing. A winterization plan is also being implemented to ensure testing remains viable throughout the winter. The permanent site at Midway will open next week, Tuesday and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Here’s the complete story from CBS-2 Chicago.
