Chicago Mayoral Candidate Gives Away $170K In Gasoline

A Chicago politician is trying to earn votes for his campaign to become the city’s next mayor the old-fashioned way: by bribing voters. The candidate, Dr. Willie Wilson, is giving away $170,000 worth of gas to Chicago motorists. The giveaway, which began at 7 a.m. Saturday, has already prompted thousands of residents to visit participating gas stations to fill their tanks on Wilson’s dime. Each vehicle is limited to $50 in gas, Wilson says. The Saturday event marks the sixth gas giveaway Wilson has sponsored since he kicked off his campaign.
