CARRIE UNDERWOOD is recording her first Christmas album.  It’ll be out in September.  She says this is the perfect time to do a Christmas album, because realizing what truly matters can be inspired by the most difficult times.

It’s Christmas in July, for Carrie Underwood, who announces that she’s recording her first Christmas album, right now, and that it’ll be out in September.  And it’s got to be really strange to be dressing in winter gear, when it’s over 90 degrees, outside.

It’s called “My Gift.”  And it’ll feature “beloved traditional favorites,” but the exact track-list hasn’t been revealed.

Carrie said to Billboard, quote, “I’ve always wanted to make a Christmas album . . . [and] it’s turned out to be the perfect time for an album like this, in this period of such personal and spiritual reflection.”

She added, quote, “For me, it’s more important than ever to focus on the true meaning of Christmas in a project like this.”

Even though it’s been a tough year for all of us . . . sometimes I feel like the greatest realizations can be inspired by the most difficult times, and make us more grateful for the things we do have and for what truly matters.”

Here’s a video of Carrie talking about “My Gift.”

The album will be out on September 25th, and it’ll be released on vinyl on October 30th.
