Billy Ray Cyrus Announces his Mother, Ruth Ann Casto, Has Died

Billy Ray Cyrus’ mom, Ruth Ann Castro has passed away.

Billy Ray made the announcement over the weekend.  He posted a photo of his mom on his Instagram with the caption, “my mom went to heaven today.  She belongs there.  She earned it.  She was the very definition of love.”

Country stars Dierks Bentley, Elle King and Lindsay Ell all left heart felt comments under the post.

Daughter Noah commented, “yes, she was.”

She was also the grandmother of Cyrus’ daughter, Miley Cyrus, who was a child star at Disney, and is a music superstar, in her own right.
