A 9 year old Maryland fourth grader, who is deaf, upstaged Carrie Underwood

Savannah Dahan asked her dad to video her interpretation of Carrie’s “The Champion” in American Sign language.
The video was shared and viewed millions of times all over the internet. And it’s clear why

Carrie Underwood certainly was impressed, so much so that she reached out to Savannah on Twitter and and asked to meet her. The family got to be front row at Underwood’s concert Friday night in Washington and proud dad Dahan told USA Today, his daughter “kind of took the spotlight of Carrie’s show.”  .

Backstage, Underwood asked Savannah if she wanted to sign a song with her, and of course, Savannah said “yes!” Dahan said. Underwood shared the performance on her Instagram page Sunday.
