Kane Brown took the time to celebrate one of his favorite songwriters; as BMI honored Dolly Parton.

In an appreciation video, Brown discussed his favorite Dolly song, “9 to 5,” which was written 13 years before he was born.  “What makes Dolly Parton such a relatable songwriter is that she writes what she lives and she writes what she knows.  Working ’9 to 5’: anybody can relate to that song.  And she does a great job on selling them and singing them,” Brown says.

Dolly responded to Kane that she wrote “9 to 5” on her fingernails, as she taps them together, like percussion.  The country legend says, “That little song has just been the gift that keeps on giving.”
