The Easter Bunny and Dash, Chicagoland Speedway’s cheetah mascot, will once again be visiting the Speedway on Saturday, April 5, for the third annual Easter Egg Dash Presented by Julie. This event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m with WCCQ's Roy Gregory live from 10am till noon. Guests should enter through Gate 5 off Laraway Road and continue through the tunnel directly into the Infield. A $10 donation per family will be required upon entry to benefit R.A.C.E., Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway’s nonprofit foundation.
The Easter Egg Dash, open to children ages 12 and younger, will be broken down by age groups with kids 1-4 and 5-12 having their own designated areas. A “Dash” will be held for each age group every 30 minutes, beginning at 10:15 a.m. and running through 12:45 p.m.
In addition to the Easter Egg Dash and various activities taking place in the Media Center, the Easter Bunny and Dash will also be available for pictures in Gatorade Victory Lane. Chicagoland Speedway will have a photographer taking photos, or guests may bring their own camera. All photographs taken by the Chicagoland Speedway photographer will be made available online only following the event.
This year’s Easter Egg Dash is full of exciting guests, beginning with the Joliet Fire Department and their participation in the Touch-A-Truck program. Aunt Nina’s Sweets ‘n’ Treats, located at 21121 Division Street in Crest Hill, will contribute to the charitable efforts by providing candy bags for the Easter Egg Dash, hundreds of toy giveaways and several FREE birthday parties to be raffled off to Kids Club members. The Family Fun Zone, located at 2333 Theodore St. in Crest Hill, will also be giving away free birthday party prizes to Kids Club members. Registration is free and can be done either online or on-site the day of the event.
JULIE will also be present to welcome warmer weather with spring flowers. Families are invited to visit the JULIE display to pot and plant their very own marigolds to bring home, with all supplies provided.
R.A.C.E., racing advocates for community enrichment, was established in 2012 to provide support to nonprofit organizations and charitable causes while volunteering to cultivate community growth. As a Donor Advised Fund of the NASCAR Foundation, a 501 c3 charitable entity, R.A.C.E. aims to improve the quality of life for the greater Chicagoland area.
