Interactive Internship
The interactive department is where marketing and on air meet! We are looking for an intern with interest in both developing their creative marketing skills and learning how all aspects of media work together behind the scenes at our station. Applicants should have an outgoing personality, be comfortable with people and with managing tasks on their own. Plenty of energy and an availability for some hours between 8am and 5pm is required! Applicants must be getting college credit for their internship hours. This is an unpaid internship, but provides hands on experience and college credit to students who qualify. Job Description
WERV-FM, 95.9, The River plays Rock and Roll for Chicagoland and is the single largest suburban radio station servicing the entire Western Suburbs of Chicagoland.
This position requires a positive attitude, a team-oriented approach, and a strong attention to detail. A strong work ethic and the ability to work well within a deadline-oriented environment is vital and the ability to multi-task is also a helpful characteristic. This is a full-time position requiring a full 40-hour work week.
Job Requirements:
• Ability to work a full time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 5pm work week
• College degree preferred
• ‘Notary Public’ status preferred, but not required
• Computer data entry experience a must
• Must be extremely detail oriented and able to work within a deadline oriented environment
• Must be a team player who can work with others in a high energy work situation with the need for balancing quick response needs with forward planning
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and provide your own dependable transportation on a daily basis.
• Must present the utmost business-professional manner and attire on a daily basis.

Duties include filling in for news, traffic, bits, and helping with show prep. This internship will provide students with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a radio station environment. It is a great way to gain specific skills and knowledge through hands-on experience, as well as make contacts and build confidence. Having related work experience gives you an edge over other candidates in a competitive job market. As an intern for NextMedia Radio, you will assist in all aspects of implementation and on-site coordination of promotions, marketing, and interactive development.
To become a promotions intern for NextMedia Radio, you must:
